A day I will never forget

Today we went to Dauchau, one of the first concentration camps built during WWII. Dauchau was a work camp. We saw the gas chamber that was never used. But the crematorium was used day and night. They tie of the map shows how many concentration camps there were. It was an emotional day and a time to remember and pray that so etching like this would never happen again. What are we over looking in our society today? Will you choose to stand up for those around you?

Doku museum

These pictures show the site of the nazi headquarters in Nuremberg, Germany. Hitler wanted his building to look like the colosseum in Rome. He wanted it to be a sign of power. I also went to zeppelin field which was used for rally's and a practice area for the soldiers. I'm standing on the steps where hitler would have stood while talking to thousands of people. Hitler would often have youth rally's here as well. Pretty scary to think about realizing all this happened less than 100 years ago.

Princess for a week

For the past five days we have been staying in a castle in Nuremberg. I was lucky and got to sleep up in the castle tower. It was so much fun watching a thunderstorm from the tower windows...

12 hours!

So today we were on a bus for twelve hours! It was not the most fun thing I have ever done  in my life. And to make the day even better, when we got to what was supposed to be a really nice hotel, the power kept going off and there was no air conditioning. Lets just say we were all glad to only bet here one night.

Milan

So here is the church where Augustine was baptized. It was gigantic. This is where we stopped after a six hour bus ride. It was a relief to walk around. Adele and I made friends with a family from California. The mom wasps ting out to her kids how the stained glass windows depicted Bible stories. Then the dad turned to his kids and asked do you know why we know Adam and Eve were not Chinese? Because they would have ate the snake...it was so hard not to bust up laughing in the church haha

PISA!

So I was able to mark off another location on the bucket list today. Pisa! Dad you were rig when you said there is nothing much there except the tower haha...I enjoyed taking pictures and watching everyone else take goofy pics. It looked like the crowd was dancing to Thriller. Everyone had their arms in the air trying to hold the tower. Good times!

Game time

So a guy on this trip has a travel size settlers game! It is super neat...don't worry uncle Phil I'm on the look out to buy one if I can find them! I can't wait to play again sometime. All the cards are in German..makes it interesting haha

Casa cares

Here are some pics of the beautiful place we stayed just outside of Florence up in the mountains. It's called casa cares. It used to be an orphanage and now it has been converted into a guest house. The property is gorgeous. They harvest olives for olive oil. I wasn't a fan of the oil but I am told it is high quality. We ate cherries right off the trees! The food was all fresh from their organic garden. It was so refreshing to stay here. They also had a volleyball court up on a hill. We played and watched the sunset over the Tuscan valley. What more can I say. God you made this world so beautiful!! Thank you!
